The Solid Rock–Blog Tour + Giveaway!

TSR Release Banner FB and Blog

I am excited to be part of this blog tour for a new Christian Western! Faith Blum joins us today to talk about her new release, The Solid Rock. It is about a talented detective with a mission to find his kidnapped colleague who finds himself working undercover with a heinous outlaw who has more plans than first meet the eye.

About the Book

3D The Solid RockJoshua woke with a quiet groan. As his senses woke up one at a time, he cracked his eyelids open. Sure enough, there was a silhouetted form standing at the foot of the bed. From the smell, the person was either from the brothel down the street or had recently left one. He forced himself to breathe evenly and reached for the knife in his thigh holster. With as tough and evil a voice as he could imitate, he spoke, “State your intentions.” Pinkerton detective, Joshua Brookings, is sent on a job that seems simple on the surface. His fellow detective has been kidnapped and his boss, William Pinkerton senses foul play. Joshua is sent to investigate Edward's case in hopes of finding the kidnapped detective and helping solve the case that has taken over ten years to investigate. Arriving in Cheyenne, Joshua finds much more than a simple kidnapping. Yet again, he must go undercover, something he made his boss promise never to make him do again. The only Christian in the outlaw group, Joshua falters and almost loses faith in God’s providence. Will he stand on the solid Rock or drown in the sinking sand?

Calling all artists!

I have a favor. I need a sketch. A fortress/castle sketch to be more specific.

Here’s the deal, while editing Samara’s Peril the other day, I decided to draw a simple diagram/layout of the fortress in the book on graph paper to get a better sense of the location. This got me thinking about how nice it would be to include a sketch of the fortress in the book so that readers could better imagine it. Problem is, I’m not much of an artist.

So I’m putting out a rather last minute call for anyone who might like to do the sketch for me. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. I’m thinking something on the order of these sketches:

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/ed/70/f6/ed70f62731a9a92304cd3b731786f70b.jpg

I would obviously provide all of the details of the fortress. The sketch would go in both the ebook and paperback with clear credit to the artist. I would also need it by the end of April. If you want to give it a go or know someone who might, just contact me through email and we can discuss it. (Email button is in the sidebar.)

Adela’s Curse—Blog Tour + Giveaway!

Today I’m pleased to be part of the blog tour for Adela’s Curse by Claire Banschbach! Below you’ll find all the information for you newest book as well as an excerpt and giveaway!

Adelas Curse KINDLE (1)

About the Book

A curse. A murderous scheme. A choice.

A witch and her master capture a young faery and command her to kill their enemy. Adela has no choice but to obey. If she does not, they will force the location of her people’s mountain home from her and kill her. To make matters even worse, the person she is to kill is only a man struggling to save his dying land and mend a broken heart.

Count Stefan is a man simply trying to forget the woman he loves and save a land crippled by drought. When a mysterious woman arrives at his castle claiming to be a seamstress, he knows she is more than she seems.

Adela enlists the help of Damian, another faery, to try and delay the inevitable. He insists she has a choice. But with the witch controlling her every move, does she?

Adela touched the ground again. She drove away the blight, but no more. She had no wish to reveal herself as a faery. She and the boy looked up as hoof beats sounded behind them. Apprehension filled her, and she stood clutching her bag.

Horses and their riders clattered to a halt beside them. The boy scrambled up from his perch on the rock and bowed to the foremost rider. The boy’s father also heard the horses and came running outside. Adela decided that the best thing to do was to curtsey.

“Bartek, what happened to your lands?” the leader of the troop asked. They all heard the shock in his voice, and turned to look. The land had soaked up Adela’s power, drawing more from her than she realized. The farmer’s grain stood tall and the dried streambed that ran through his lands gurgled merrily with water again. Bartek was just as shocked as the others.

“I do not know, my lord Stefan,” he said in wonder. Adela froze. This was the Count!

The Count turned to her. “Who are you?”

“I am a traveler through these lands, sir,” she replied.

“A woman who travels alone?” he was surprised.

“The road looked safe enough and my destination is not much further,” she said truthfully.

“And what is your destination?”

“The village that lies by the Count’s castle; I had hoped to find work there,” she said. Another lie. She forced herself to glance up at the Count. He sat his horse easily and his square jaw reminded her of Damian. She shoved the thought away.

“Did you have something to do with this?” he asked, pointing to the fields.

“How could I, my lord? I’m only a seamstress. I know nothing about the land.” Lie.

The Count looked intently down at her as if trying to determine the truth of her words. She gazed back as steadily as she could.

“If you are going to Chelm, then allow us to accompany you there,” he said.

“I couldn’t intrude on you like that, my lord,” she said, praying he would ride on.

“Nonsense. Captain Cyryl, take her up behind you,” he ordered.

The grizzled captain reached down and pulled Adela up behind him.

“You’d best hold on, miss,” Cyryl said gruffly, as she attempted to settle comfortably on the horse’s broad rump.

The farmer and his son bowed again as the troop rode off.

“It was her, father, I know it!” the boy exclaimed. “She did something!”

“Maybe, lad,” his father said. “But then maybe she didn’t. She’d have to be a faery. And faeries don’t lie.”

Cover Reveal—Brothers-in-Arms

Today I’m taking part in the cover reveal for Jack Lewis Baillot’s upcoming World War II novel, Brothers-in-Arms!

13bf3664-c645-4fdd-a722-529d4dde2979

About the Book

Can a Jew and a Nazi survive Hitler's Germany?

Franz Kappel and Japhet Buchanan never expected their friendship to be tested by the Third Reich. Friends from early childhood, the boys form an inseparable, brotherly bond. Growing up in a little German village, they escape most of the struggles of war until the day Japhet is banished from school for being a Jew, and later has a rib broken when other village boys beat him up. Franz learns he is putting himself in danger for spending so much time with Japhet but continues to stand up for his Jewish friend even at the risk to himself. Then one day their lives are shattered when they see first-hand that the price of being a Jew is dangerously high.

With the war now on their doorsteps, Franz and Japhet come up with a desperate plan to save their families and get them out of Germany alive. Leaving behind the lives they've always known, they move into Berlin with nothing to protect them but forged papers and each other. Convinced their friendship can keep them going, the boys try and make a new life for themselves while trying to keep their true identities and Japhet's heritage a secret. Taking his best friend's safety upon himself, Franz joins the Nazis in an attempt to get valuable information. At the same time, Japhet joins the Jewish Resistance, neither friend telling the other of their new occupations.

With everyone in their world telling them a Nazi and a Jew can't be friends, it is only a matter of time before they believe all the lies themselves, until neither is certain if they are fighting against a race of people or fighting for their homeland. Somehow they have to survive the horrors of World War II, even when all of Germany seems to be against them.

About the Author

IMG_0990Jack is one of those strange people who calls herself an Author. She spends a lot of her time writing and even less time editing. She likes to write about friendships which is partly how Brothers-in-Arms came to be. More than ten years in the making, this is the book she dreaded the most writing, but which also has the most meaning for her.

When Jack isn't writing, which doesn't happen too often, she keeps busy with various other hobbies – such as reading, playing the bagpipes to the dread of her neighbors, and drinking tea – which might not be considered a hobby by most but which should be.

She lives in a cabin in the woods with her dog and a library which isn't quite equal to Prince Adam's but will be given enough time and a secret doorway.

Samara’s Peril–Pre-order Now!

SPpreorder

When news arrives that Emperor Daican has been in contact with his chief war strategist, it signals potential doom for the country of Samara. Determined to intervene, the resistance in Landale, headed by Lady Anne, embark on a covert mission in hopes of unearthing further information. However, a shocking discovery leads to complications no one could have foreseen.

Armed with their newfound knowledge, they set out for Samara to warn the king. War is inevitable, and they must face two desperate battles—one on the walls of Samara’s great stronghold, and the other on the battlefield of Jace’s heart, where victory might only be achievable through great sacrifice.

Yes, yes, it’s true! Samara’s Peril is showing up for pre-order on all major eBook retailers! :D I’m so excited to see my next “baby” officially on a retail site. *warm fuzzies* It’s kind of scary too, because now I have to have it ready by May 13th. Thankfully, (and I shouldn’t even say this), editing is going swimmingly so far. Despite the amount of notes I recieved from my beta readers, it’s all flowing together very nicely, in my opinion. I’m sure I’ll hit a few snags, but if it’s nothing too major, I’ll probably finish well ahead of schedule, which will be nice. That will just give me more time to work on formatting the book and planning the blog tour (which I’ll start putting together somtime next month).

Below you can find all the links to the pre-order pages for whichever ebook format you prefer. I’ve also included a couple of blog buttons and clickable tweet for anyone who wants to share and spread the word. :)
